About Runyan Lake
Runyan Lake is a 180 acre private all-sports lake surrounded by a limited number of private summer cottages and year-around homes. This spring and creek fed lake is located in Tyrone Township, Livingston County, approximately 1 mile south of Fenton, Michigan. It is east of US-23, west of I-75, south of I-69, and is located in the Fenton School District.
All properties on Runyan Lake are members of the Runyan Lake Association. The lake association is responsible for water quality monitoring and weed control, the private boat ramp for use by riparian members, and the small island on the lake. The island has a large shallow area around it and is a favorite gathering place during the summer.
The lake
association organizes an annual fireworks
show around July 4th as well as other social events for the lake
community. In addition, there is an active waterskiing team
made up of
lake residents who regularly practice on the lake.
The only boats permitted to use Runyan Lake are boats registered to riparian (lakefront) property owners who have paid their membership dues up to date. Membership dues are $155 per season per property owner. Boats owned by "friends" or non-riparian owners are not allowed on the lake. Runyan lake has no public access.
Properties in the immediate Runyan Lake area are connected to the Livingston County Regional Sewer system. All properties have private wells.
